"Who will answer, gladly saying, 'Here am I, send me, send me'?"

Always

Jesus always wants to get us going:  Whatever the task may be, it should be our pleasure, (Hymn 496, The Lutheran Hymnal, stanza 4).

My beloved eighth grade teacher (way back in 1945-46), much later in life, described me as a person always going somewhere or doing something.  Much more about him, later!

The Lord Knows

December and time for me to begin to feed hay.  It had been a cold night with quite a bit of snow.

Out comes a sparrow, who had spent the night wedged in between the hay bail for warmth, as he noted my beginning to packet out the hay.  He hopped out of the building and began to eat the seeds, only to fall over on his back.  Soon, his legs began to jerk and he died.  Not one of these sparrows falls, even if never having been seen by a human eye, without the Lord being aware of it.

THEREFORE, if His eye was on the sparrow and since I'm worth many of them, he surely watches me.  BUT ALSO, if your eye or my eye is on that sparrow, we are surely watching and realizing how much the Lord loves us.  Remember if your eye is on the sparrow, your watching the Lord's love in action!

I learned a lot from that sparrow in the snow of last December.  Read Matthew chapter 10 and learn even more!

ALL THINGS:  Out on the Street

My eighth grade teacher was rejected by both parents before he was two years old- Out "on the street."  This rejection was hurtful to him all his life, or so he told me, even into his eighties.  However, this being case aside made him have compassion for hundreds of eight grade students in a lifetime of teaching.  Read Romans chapter 8 and learn even more!
